I created The Italian Cookie because I wanted to share the simple flavors of my Italian childhood in my new home, America.
My mother and my grandmother baked everything at home for me and my brother, and I never had worry about the ingredients in my afternoon snack. We did not have to read labels.
You will always be able to trust the ingredients in my cookie mixes.
Earl Grey (An ode to Alice’s London years) – Vegan, gluten-free
Made with the purest and most sustainable ingredients like organic brown rice flour, Fortnum and Mason Countess Grey Tea leaves, almond flour and organic cane sugar, this frangipane-like pastry is no ordinary cookie mix. Only add two ingredients, your favorite milk and oil, for the most elegant, fragrant, and delicate pastry for your tea, dessert, or snack.
Ingredients: organic brown rice flour, almond flour, Fortnum and Mason earl grey tea leaves, organic raw cane sugar, salt, Italian baking powder.
Bonet (An ode to Piemonte’s traditional amaretto and chocolate pudding) – Amaretti contain gluten and and egg whites
The combination of amaretti cookies and chocolate is a traditional one from Piemonte, where I was born and raised, and where a pudding called Bonet is very popular. This frangipane-like pastry is as decadent as a brownie, but as elegant as a pastry you would get in one of the many baroque cafés on the streets of Torino. Healthy as it can be, with organic raw cocoa powder, Italian amaretti cookies, and just the right amount of sea salt. Add a teaspoon of rum to truly make it shine, and you will be transported to the beautiful Italian Alps in a heartbeat.

Cappuccino (An ode to Autogrill, Italy’s most famous highway restaurant) – Vegan, gluten-free
If you have ever travelled on an Italian highway, you have stopped at an Autogrill for a meal (and probably a very good one). This frangipane-like pastry is one of my favorites, as it holds the intense coffee aroma that you can only find in an Italian café. It reminded me of the long drives from Piemonte to Puglia that I would take with my parents and my brother every summer, to visit my father’s family. We would leave Avigliana, near Turin, and stop at Autogrill for lunch. When food comes with beautiful memories it’s worth being remembered and celebrated; this cookie is a celebration. Intense, never too sweet, made with organic brown rice flour, almond flour, coffee, organic cane sugar, sea salt and Italian baking powder. The perfect pick-me-up when you are dreaming of an Italian summer.

Meliga (An ode to Piemonte’s traditional lemon and cornmeal cookie) – Vegan, gluten-free
Inspired by Paste di Meliga, a traditional cookie from my lakeside hometown of Avigliana, at the foothills of the Italian Alps, this frangipane-like pastry has a crisp texture, and an intense lemon scent. Few ingredients of the highest quality, like organic brown rice flour, Italian fine polenta, Italian candied lemon peels (candied in sugar, NEVER high-fructose corn syrup), and almond flour, will make this pastry a perfect one for your kids’ breakfast, for a fresh dessert on a hot summer night, or the perfect treat to show love and care to yourself and your loved ones.

While these resemble cookies, they are more on the level of a fine pastry. Made with quality whole ingredients, less sugar, they are vegan, & gluten free.
The dry ingredients come pre-mixed; you then add a few flavor-accenting items from your kitchen and pantry, and very easily a one-of-kind healthy treat is crafted in your own home. I love these!!
